Due to the Corona pandemic, the Neustadt meeting from 25 to 27 June in Neustadt in Holstein had to be cancelled. Nevertheless, those responsible did not want to let the date pass by without a word and have come up with a nice alternative and together have packed North German greeting packages and made an atmospheric video.

Actually, the planners of this year's Neustadt meeting should be organising, setting up and preparing at full speed right now, but like so many things this year, things turned out differently than expected for the 43rd Neustadt meeting.

Due to the current development of the Corona pandemic and the resulting lack of planning certainty, the Neustadt Meeting from 25 to 27 June in Neustadt in Holstein had to be cancelled. Nevertheless, the city, the tourism service, the Lübeck Bay Tourism Agency (TALB), the trade association and the delegation did not want to let the date go by without a word. Therefore, the planners of the Neustadt meeting came up with a nice alternative and together they packed North German greeting packages, which were sent to the delegations of the other New Towns last Monday.

Last Friday, those responsible prepared 700 packages for dispatch. Among other things, they contain information about Neustadt in Holstein that really whets the appetite for a holiday at the Baltic Sea, a jar of potato soup, “Schiet-Lot-Em” (a herbal liqueur which translates “take it easy” / “keep cool”), a fish roll recipe, a Neustadt keychain and a test tube filled with beach sand.

The core and centrepiece of the package is the specially produced video about Neustadt in Holstein. In addition to atmospheric images of town, beach and harbour life, the mayors also have their say. Impressive aerial views of water sports enthusiasts and sailors, the city centre and the surrounding area alternate with detailed shots of Neustadt's most beautiful corners, making the video a real eye-catcher even for locals.
